Does this nugget ice maker require a water line?

No. This portable countertop nugget ice maker does not require a water line. It has a removable 1.8 L (1.9 qt) water tank for easier filling, emptying, and cleaning. Just add water, plug it in, and enjoy fresh nugget ice at home or work.
Why does the ice melt in the basket? Is that normal?

Yes. It makes fresh nugget ice, not long-term freezer storage. The basket holds 2.6 lb. Some melting is normal, and water recirculates to make fresh ice again. If you freeze extra for later, spread it in a single layer to help minimize clumping.
Is it easy to clean? Does it have a self-cleaning function?

Yes. It includes a self-cleaning function for easier upkeep. For best results, we recommend a quick clean weekly and a deeper clean about once a month, depending on usage and water conditions. Harder water or frequent use may require more cleaning.
Is it noisy while making ice?

Like most nugget ice makers, it makes normal operating sound while making fresh ice. Sound is more noticeable up close and similar to a dishwasher at about 4 ft. It is designed for kitchens, offices, and shared spaces, but not intended to be silent.
What kind of water should I use, and what is the TDS pen for?
