The S1 features a large 6000mAh built-in rechargeable battery, optimized for continuous Wi-Fi use. Unlike Bluetooth-only devices, Wi-Fi draws more power, yet delivers ~40 hours of real-world runtime for enhanced portability without frequent charging.
Does the ProTemp S1 fit my grill or smoker?

The S1 replaces your grill's gauge or requires a hole (dont drill ceramic). Universal(0.3" dia) fits most grills/smokers, including Kamado Joe (except BGE), drum, offset, kettle. BGE model(0.16" dia) fits Big Green Egg/Primo XL Oval or smaller holes.
Is ProTemp S1 waterproof and can it be used in rainy and snowy weather?

The ProTemp S1 main unit is water-resistant to IP54 (splash-proof but not fully submersible), while the base is completely water-resistant. For rainy or snowy weather, use the optional waterproof protective cover sold separately.
